Installation Instructions

It is important to properly install your Waterhog Car Mats.  Follow the steps below to ensure a proper installation.

Step 1: To begin installing your Waterhog Car Mats, remove any existing mats.

Waterhog Car Mats are designed to perform best when applied directly to your vehicle’s floors.  Installing our mats on top of other mats can decrease its performance.

Step 2: Place the mat at the appropriate location inside the vehicle.

Front mats are designed to fit both driver and passenger sides of your vehicle.  Rear mats are to be installed in front of rear passenger seating.

Step 3: Check to see that your mat is lying flat without obstruction from any obstacles.

Obstacles such as a foot resting pad may impact the mat’s ability to lay flat.  Our trim-to-fit design allows you to trim around such obstacles to keep your mat lying flat for optimum performance.

Step 4: If the mat is lying correctly, check all pedals for complete movement to ensure a safe installation.

Safety is always the first priority.  It is important to make sure your mat is free from any obstruction with any of your pedals (gas, brake, and clutch if applicable).

*If trimming is necessary, identify the necessary trim line and remove the mat from the vehicle to be trimmed (see remaining steps).

Step 5 (if necessary): Identify the necessary trim line to trim your mat to and use scissors to safely trim the desired area.

Waterhog Car Mats are available in two sizes in order to cater to the various amounts of vehicles.  However, we understand that every vehicle’s interior is unique.  Utilize our trim-to-fit design when needed in order to properly install your mat.

Step 6 (if necessary): Place your mat back into the vehicle to ensure a proper fit.  Once the necessary amount of trimming is completed, check all pedals for complete movement to ensure a safe installation.

Safety is always the first priority.  It is important to make sure your mat is free from any obstruction with any of your pedals (gas, brake, and clutch if applicable).
